There are no Shipping Methods Available – Woo Commerce (Solution)
I recently logged into one of the sites I am running which has Woo Commerce running to power the shop on it, and I was in there as I needed to change some of the shipping costs and I noticed that the settings I normally changed were now labelled as “legacy” and it informed me that at some point in the future they will probably be removed, and if I unclicked them they would no longer be able to be used and I would have to sort out the “Zone” shipping options.
This should be easy to set up
With a combination of being tired due to the flatmate not understanding what headphones are as well as a love of using a hair dryer way more than is normal for a human being, I might not have been working at my maximum when setting up these new settings.
But with anything like this it normally takes a little bit of trial and error to get it to work exactly how you want it. Woo Commerce has many options and most of them make sense and have a lot of handy prompts as well as a good amount of documentation out there if you can be bothered to sit there and read/watch a video about it. Who really has time for that?
The dreaded words
Once I had “set it up” I decided to make sure it was working, instead of finding everything was working as expected I encountered this on the checkout page:
There are no shipping methods available. Please double check your address, or contact us if you need any help.
Umm OK I thought, I played around with a bunch of settings, and then turned to Google.
There are a lot of people that have had this issue
There is a lot of people with this problem, both on random websites and on the WordPress.org site under the Woo Commerce plugin page, as with anything like this there are many many things that can cause the problem, after about an hour I finally came across a post that helped me solved “There are no shipping methods available” problem in Woo Commerce.
The solution that worked for me
I found it on this post:
It turns out I had too many zones set up for New Zealand, where I should have set up one zone with multiple shipping methods, once I did that, everything was working like normal, well until it breaks due to something else.
Hopefully, this helps you out if you are in the same predicament I was in.
