New Idea Sparked

Fieldays has just finished and I spent a couple of days there for The Chris and Sam Podcast.

A while ago now I had the idea of heading along to it to find interesting people to talk to. One benefit is that we could get in as media.

It’s a good day or days out and I like hearing people’s stories.

2 Days Isn’t Enough

Fieldays itself goes for 4 days. We fit in with work and anything else we have going on.

After this year I’ve come to realise 2 days isn’t enough. In a perfect world I would edit all the podcast episodes there in between talking to people. To do that I need a laptop… that’s a story for another day.

Interesting People and their Energy

Talking to interesting people excited about their thing really gives me energy. You never know what they will have there and you never really know their back story either.

As most people there want to promote something it’s usually quite easy to have a conversation.

Trying to Find the Right Project

I’m constantly looking for a new thing to do, while struggling to finish the project I already have.

I have a strong belief that doing all these random things, some better than others must be leading me to something even better, where I can combine these random skills I have into this better project.

Have I Found It?

A couple of years ago at Fieldays we talked to a really interesting couple. They had started this thing to help young people.

They said the thing we were doing should be harnessed into something to help people out.

At the time it was very energizing and interesting to hear this. It also sparked something in my head.

After talking to more people this year I have a better idea of a project that I think may work for me, and may help out others.

A clear light bulb against a vibrant blue and yellow background, symbolizing energy and creativity.

The Hurdles

The biggest hurdles for this is time.

Time to create the thing. To get around this hurdle I think I can batch create what I want, then drip feed it out. It will be a lot of work, but I feel energized when I think about it.

Everything else

Combining the Good

Combining the best bits of things I like is helping. I can see a place where this idea grows and at the very least might get me into other events.

All while helping other people and keeping things interesting for me.

Conclusion

There is only one way to find out if this will work. That is to start it and keep working on it.

I think people overthink a lot of things. I get it. But if the idea is something that gets you excited and is within your financial means, or at least able to be started cheap or free, give it a go.
