It’s Easy to do Nothing

Sometimes it’s easy to do nothing.

When everything is good, sometimes it is easy to do nothing. Just go with the motions and consume.

Productivity is out the window. Watching things online is up.

Lot of free time and being idle.

Does this happen to you?

It feels like it’s been happening to me lately.

I guess the good thing is I catch myself in this situation and know I need to snap out of it.

Which can be hard to do.

How to Change?

When you have an external pressure, it’s easy to get shit done. If you find yourself without a job, and bills to pay. Most people will pull finger and try and sort something out as soon as possible.

If there are deadlines to meet for super important stuff, you will most likely get it done.

But what if there is no pressure? Each day slowly blends into the next?

You might want to change.

I’m not sure what the exact answer is to bring n this effective change.

It’s probably a mix of all the good stuff. Eat well, exercise, sleep well and have a plan. I’ve probably got the sleep mainly sorted, and I know what I have to work on.

The Long List of Stuff

I’m pretty good at noting down what I need to do. I also seem to keep good track of it in my head.

Reviewing the list is a bit lack luster sometimes. But I have a list.

I just need to work on the list.

I Need to Create Some Pressure

I need to create some pressure to get things done. I’m not sure what would work best for me though. A time-based approach, money based, or something else.

I do find that I start working on things when I only have a small amount of time before I have to go somewhere. Like right now, as I type this, I have 20 mins before I have to leave and drive somewhere.

When I have a whole day free, it is very easy to waste a large chunk of it. Only near the end of it I do something productive.

I’m not sure what the best option is to help with this. So let’s say it is a work in progress.
